Hello all and thanks for checking back. Sorry it has been so long between lessons but I had to have some minor surgery done. But I am back and ready to go!
Many times when talking to a student I will hear them say "I can't keep my head down" or "I keep looking up." This is the biggest piece of poop ever of an excuse to hit a bad golf shot. By the time you have looked up you have already made a golf swing and the looking up has very little to do with a bad result. But, if you have to have a focus point to help keep your head down, try this. Set up to hit a golf shot. Where are you looking or where is your line of site. Most golfers look at the top of the golf ball, which is wrong. Try looking at the back of the golf ball as close to the ground as you can. This should help you stay down, which in reality will help keep you head behind the golf ball at impact.
It is a fact that almost any good golfer will tell you he cannot see the club impact the golf ball. So stop concentrating so hard on this.
Golf season is right around the corner. Make sure you stop in and get your golf clubs re-gripped and ready to go. If you do not know if they need to be re-gripped the general rule of thumb is this: You play at least once each week, get them gripped every year. You play less than once each week, every other year will do. Also look at your grips. If they look shinny or slick they definitely need to be re-gripped.
Again thanks for checking back and see you here next month.
